Unfortunately, even if the part of his brain responsible for reason was violently sounding the alarm, when Lu Xun looked at the state Qian Wei was in while she ws front of him right now the thought of restraining himself barely crossed his mind. Qian Wei was like a dangerous piece of contraband that was marked flammable, explosive, and toxic that was to say that the thinking part of Lu Xun’s brain clearly knew that he shouldn’t get close and that he should take some distance immediately, but perhaps subconsciously he was something of a danger-seeker because somehow right now all he wanted to do was get closer. He was like an insect unconsciously attracted to an intolerably alluring fragrance, while Qian Wei was the beautiful and inviting flower. In the end, by the time Lu Xun noticed what was going on, he was already right in front of her, unable to move, shocked motionless by her intoxicating beauty. Just basking dazedly in the warmth of her soft aura.
Qian Wei, the one responsible for this change, had no idea it was happening. She casually walked past Lu Xun and looked out at the rain through the window: “It’s really coming down out there.”
As she spoke, she shifted slightly and the tips of her long hair inadvertently brushed against Lu Xun’s skin. At the same time, Lu Xun smelled the particular scent of his milk soap that his mother had brought back from abroad and, for the first time, he realized that even the simple smell of milk was a scent that could so thoroughly stir the imagination. At the same time, it was as if the naughty ends of Qian Wei’s hair felt that Lu Xun wasn’t already agitated enough and, to rile him up further, they gently brushed across his collarbone and his cheek, leaving behind a tiny and ticklish feeling until Qian Wei walked away. However, even though she had moved away, Lu Xun somehow felt that itchy and ticklish feeling persisted, not only on the surface of his skin, but all the way down to his heart.
He deliberately forced himself to look out of the window for a long moment before grabbing the remote and turning on the TV in an attempt to divert his attention.
“Ah, it’s a typhoon?” Qian Wei looked at the news that had just come on and seemed somewhat stunned. “No wonder there was a huge downpour all of a sudden. But look, it seems that the buses are all out of service?” She looked at Lu Xun and wondered, “How will we get back to school then? I’m afraid it will be difficult to get a taxi in this weather.”
Lu Xun absent-mindedly replied: “We can wait until the rain slows down a bit and then walk to the subway station.”
Qian Wei nodded: “Sounds good, for now let’s cook!”
Qian Wei noticed that something seemed wrong with Lu Xun for the last little while. After she spoke, he paused for a long time before eventually giving a random nod and then walking awkwardly into the kitchen. Qian Wei followed him because she wanted to help but he rudely shooed her away.
“Sit down. I’ll be fine by myself.”
Qian Wei didn’t think much of it and happily began to watch TV in the living room. Lu Xun worked alone in the kitchen for a long time, to the point that Qian Wei’s stomach was growling with hunger, when he finally began to bring out the dishes in an oddly stiff manner.
Qian Wei watched as Lu Xun brought out the dishes one after another. There were scrambled eggs with tomatoes, fried beef with celery, shredded potatoes with vinegar, winter spareribs, and garlic mushrooms… all in all, the food looked bright and appetizing
However, just as Qian Wei was about to say some words of praise, Lu Xun spoke in an awkward tone.
“Although I followed the steps written in the cookbook to the letter, and the dishes seem to match the pictures in the book fairly closely, in the end, the taste seems to be a bit different from what it’s supposed to be like.”
“Huh?”
Lu Xun’s face turned a little red: “It might be a little bad.”
“It’s alright.” Qian Wei knew that at times like this what she needed to do was encourage her boyfriend of course! So she patted Lu Xun on the shoulder and said. “Don’t worry, I know you put your heart into this. Plus, it’s the first time you’ve cooked for me so I’ll definitely eat it all.”
Qian Wei actually felt very confident in Lu Xun’s cooking despite having no basis for that feeling. She just assumed that, with Lu Xun’s abnormal learning ability, anything he made would probably taste good. Probably he was just saying it tasted bad because he wasn’t too confident because this was his first time cooking for someone else…
However, after she took one bite, Qian Wei really wanted to bite off her tongue. It was salty… way too salty… She had never expected that Lu Xun’s ‘a little bad’ was actually a massive understatement. Not only was the food ‘a little bad’, ah, it was very bad!
Qian Wei asked tentatively, “Lu Xun, is it too late to take back what I said just now?”
“…”
Qian Wei was very surprised that Lu Xun, who was always so skillful, somehow not only showcased skills that were a little subpar, he actually managed to ruin all ten dishes on the table. In the end, none of them were edible at all… and what was most surprising was that they were all ruined by low-level mistakes like adding too much sugar or too much salt.
She was puzzled: “Lu Xun, what were you thinking about when you were cooking? Obviously these kinds of mistakes can be avoided with a bit of concentration…”
Lu Xun still seemed a little absent-minded and he unconsciously averted his eyes awkwardly when he heard her question. Eventually he stood up, went to the kitchen, found some instant noodles, and said, “Let’s eat these instead.”
As a result, the two ended up eating instant noodles together. However, after dinner, not only did the rain fail to lighten, it instead got heavier and heavier all the way up until the time when the last train had already left. The whole time there was no sign of the rain letting up at all.
It seemed they had no choice but to stay here in Lu Xun’s apartment tonight.
Although Lu Xun’s apartment was relatively well-furnished, because Lu Xun usually only used it as a place where he would occasionally come to stay the night there was only one bedroom that had all of the proper amenities. The guest room only had a single simple bed inside and was otherwise bare.
Lu Xun surrendered his room and all the warm quilts to Qian Wei without saying a word before heading over the guest room. Although there was a bed in there it unfortunately only had a thin summer quilt.
“Won’t you catch a cold?” Qian Wei was worried when she saw the state of the guest room, “It’s already winter and the temperature outside has been low recently. Even if there’s heating, these quilts are just too thin.” She continued in a normal voice. “Should we sleep together?”
Lu Xun was stupefied. He lowered his eyes to the ground and said in a casual tone, “Aren’t you worried about what I might do to you at night?”
Qian Wei blinked: “You wouldn’t, ah.” She tilted her head, “You’re a gentleman after all.”
Even though it was obviously a compliment, for some reason Lu Xun felt a little stuffy after hearing it. He didn’t say anything more, he just cast another long look at Qian Wei before turning and walking towards the guest room.
“I’ll just sleep in the guest room.” He said.
———–
Later that night, Qian Wei was awakened by the roar of thunder. She blearily blinked her eyes and looked around vaguely in the dark. Then another crack of thunder roared in her ears and it was accompanied by a flash of lightning that seemed to split the night sky. Qian Wei was frightened and immediately woke up completely. She gritted her teeth and wrapped the quilt around herself, trying to muffle the sound of the thunder. However, it seemed that the more afraid you were of something the more it would appear, because after that the thunder cracked and roared again and again, and Qian Wei could only huddle inside the quilt and tremble.
She was actually very afraid of thunder.
Qian Wei wanted to endure it, but somehow the more she told herself not to be afraid the more afraid she felt. Then, there was a particularly large burst of thunder and Qian Wei’s nerves completely snapped. She tossed off the quilt and ran over to Lu Xun’s room with her hands over her ears.
There she found, to her surprise, that Lu Xun also wasn’t asleep. He looked up from the bed as soon as Qian Wei entered the room.
“Qian Wei?”
Just then there was another flash of lightning, and Qian Wei’s pale face was clearly illuminated.
Lu Xun asked: “You’re afraid of thunder?”
Qian Wei nodded and blushed a little: “C-can I stay in your room for a while?”
“En.” Qian Wei wasn’t sure why, but Lu Xun replied very tersely and didn’t seem to want to talk at all. Compared to how he was in the past, he seemed a bit cold right now. He didn’t even look over at Qian Wei and just silently moved a bit to one side of the bed so there was room for her to sit down.
Qian Wei was also feeling a bit embarrassed. After all, who would feel comfortable after barging in and interrupting someone else’s sleep in the middle of the night?
However, Lu Xun didn’t seem to have any intention of going back to sleep. He reached over and turned on a small bedside lamp before sitting up. After he sat up, he turned his whole body away so he wasn’t looking at Qian Wei.
“Lu Xun…”
“Your collar.”
“Huh?”
“Your clothes are open at the collar.”
Because there had been no pajamas to wear Qian Wei had no choice but to sleep in Lu Xun’s white shirt. And, just now she had run over without thinking about anything because of the fear, but now that she looked down she realized that the collar of the already too-big shirt was open and the buttons had come undone. When Qian Wei bent down to look she saw that the curves inside were a bit visible.
All of a sudden, Qian Wei felt all of her blood rushing to her face. She blushed deeply and then hurriedly fixed her clothes.
After that, the roaring thunder unexpectedly stopped for a while. During this time, Lu Xun didn’t look at Qian Wei and he didn’t speak, so the room was quiet and Qian Wei slowly felt more and more awkward. Eventually she said tentatively: “It seems that the thunder has stopped. I’ll just go back to bed…”
However, as soon as she stood up to try to leave, it was as if the heavens were playing tricks on her because an especially loud peal of thunder roared out at just that moment. Qian Wei’s whole body jolted with fear and, like a frightened rabbit, she subconsciously bounded over to Lu Xun.
“Lu Xun help me!”
By the time she realized it, she was already in Lu Xun’s arms. She noticed that, probably because her action was so sudden, Lu Xun’s whole body seemed tense. Qian Wei could clearly feel that muscles in his arms that were holding her were filled with tension. After a moment, the thunder stopped again, and Qian Wei noticed her awkward posture and hurriedly straightened herself up.
However, just as she was about to get up, Qian Wei’s hand inadvertently brushed against Lu Xun’s hand, and she was so shocked she spoke without thinking: “Lu Xun, why are your hands so cold? Just like I said, it’s no good to use such a thin quilt. You’re sure to catch a cold if you sleep like this all night.”
“I’m alright. I just have cold hands.”
However, Qian Wei didn’t find his words very convincing. His voice even sounded unnaturally hoarse as if he was already getting a cold.
Qian Wei suddenly felt very remorseful in her heart and didn’t believe Lu Xun’s reassuring words at all. Qian Wei reached out and tried to pat Lu Xun’s shoulder but Lu Xun swiftly avoided her hand, as if he didn’t want to be touched by Qian Wei at all.
Qian Wei became even more confident in her guess: “You lied to me, you must be very cold right now.”
Lu Xun’s voice seemed even more hoarse: “No.”
But Qian Wei didn’t believe it at all: “Then let me touch you.”
Lu Xun seemed very resistant to the idea, but Qian Wei also felt that this was a serious matter and began to put in a determined effort. Then, for a moment, there was a scene of her reaching out to touch while he struggled to dodge away. In the end, they struggled back and forth for a while and Qian Wei ultimately failed to touch Lu Xun’s shoulder. However, at the last moment, she did manage to accidentally touch his waist.
After she did that, Qian Wei was very surprised to find that Lu Xun hadn’t lied. He really wasn’t cold at all, rather, his skin seemed very hot and dry.
Qian Wei touched him again uncertainly and then spoke with a trace of disbelief in her voice: “Why are you so hot?” She worriedly continued. “Lu Xun, you don’t have a fever, do you? Either that or…”
However, before she had finished that thought, Lu Xun, who had been avoiding her with a cold attitude until now, suddenly turned around and pushed Qian Wei down onto the bed in a move that was a bit rough.
In the dim light of the bedside lamp, Lu Xun’s eyes looked a little red.
He looked down from above Qian Wei, and when he spoke it was as if he was exercising great restraint: “Or what?”
Unfortunately, Qian Wei still didn’t sense any danger. She uneasily reached up to touch Lu Xun’s face and said: “Maybe you’d better come over and sleep with me.”
“Qian Wei, you were the one who said it.”
Lu Xun’s voice was hoarse and breathless, and he stared down at Qian Wei viciously: “I gave you a chance to run away.”
Then, before Qian Wei could react, Lu Xun kissed her. But this kiss was different from any kiss he had given her before. This kiss had a trace of wild ferociousness. Qian Wei finally became aware of the danger and subconsciously tried to wiggle away. Because of her struggling movements, Lu Xun, who had been on the verge of losing control, seemed to have regained his small bit of remaining reason and roughly pushed Qian Wei away.
Unfortunately, just then, there was another shocking roar of thunder, and Qian Wei was unable to even consider the danger in front of her. She just grabbed Lu Xun’s arm without thinking about anything, drinking the poison to quench her thirst without any hesitation.
“Lu Xun!”
The sound of that cry combined with the feel of her body against his seemed to finally cause Lu Xun’s reason to collapse.
He stared at Qian Wei and said one word at a time, “Qian Wei, you provoked me yourself.”
With that, Lu Xun’s kiss fell on Qian Wei’s lips and face again and at the same time he easily lifted her up until she was sitting on his lap. Lu Xun held the back of Qian Wei’s head with one hand and locked her into a deep kiss, while at the same time running his other hand up along the back of Qian Wei’s shirt. After this rough series of movements, Qian Wei’s collar was pulled open again until both of her shoulders were exposed but, this time, Lu Xun didn’t try to look away at all. Instead, he looked straight at Qian Wei’s chest and, seeing that predatory gaze, Qian Wei finally seemed to have some sense of crisis. She tried to pull her collar shut immediately, but she found that Lu Xun’s hand was clutching the hem of her shirt and she couldn’t close the collar at all.
“Lu Xun…” Qian Wei’s voice was a bit aggrieved, “You told me to close my collar…”
Hearing those words, Lu Xun’s hand that was on her shirt was finally loosened. But Qian Wei could clearly see his handsome face in the dim light of the bedside table, and particularly she could see his eyes that were full of desire.
Also, she was currently sitting on Lu Xun’s lap, and she suddenly felt a hard thing between her legs. Qian Wei was muddled and confused, she only knew that this hard thing was uncomfortable and she subconsciously reached down to touch it and move it away.
“Qian! Wei!” As she did that, Lu Xun’s voice became bitingly fierce, and he leaned his head close to Qian Wei’s ear before gently sucking on her earlobe. His next words came as if they were between gasps for air, “I really can’t help it.”
Haaaa a real test for the gentleman Lu Xun
