Su Tang directly opened her mouth and threw out her condition.
And Luo Xingchen directly refused, “That’s impossible.”
His Luo family from Beikou was the largest wealthy merchant family in the north. Unfortunately, the status of merchants in the Qihuang Kingdom was not very high, at most, they were qualified to take the imperial examination but, even if they passed the exam and became officials, they would often be looked down on for their merchant background.
However, despite that, his Luo family had the largest business empire in the whole north, and they were specially licensed imperial merchants, so they were naturally not comparable to those other ordinary merchants.
All this was to say that his Luo family had many channels for sale all throughout the north and, if he really agreed to do things according to Su Tang’s proposal, wouldn’t it just be letting her make use of their extensive connections to sell her products and then turning around and giving her 90% of the profit? It would be like letting Su Tang just pick up money for nothing, so it was obviously impossible.
When Su Tang heard his rejection, she just smiled. “Didn’t you come all the way here to negotiate business? How about Young Master Luo and I discuss things a little further before you reject me out of hand?”
Luo Xingchen looked at Su Tang for a long time, then said with difficulty, “Alright, but I hope Miss Su will take things a bit more seriously. My Luo family of Beikou can be said to own the largest business in the north, so you shouldn’t be too greedy Miss Su…”
“But Young Master Luo, are you the same as the Luo family of Beikou?” Su Tang didn’t wait for Luo Xingchen to finish speaking and cut him off with a wink.
Luo Xingchen was a bit stunned by the sudden question, but before he could formulate a response Su Tang stood up and said. “Anyway, if Young Master Luo wishes to discuss things in further detail, you can come and find me in the Song residence, I’m there every afternoon.”
After saying her piece, Su Tang really turned and left. Luo Xingchen’s eyes flashed as he watched Su Tang’s small figure disappear through the doorway.
Then the waiter who just led Su Tang into the room appeared and stood at the entrance in a daze. There was a tray with two teacups on it in his hand and he said weakly, “The girl left, but this tea…”
When he saw the waiter’s state, Luo Xingchen frowned and asked, “Tea? What tea?”
The waiter quickly stepped through the door and plaster on a smile while saying, “Actually, when that girl came in, she said that it was cold outside and specially asked me to tell the kitchen to make two cups of ginger tea with brown sugar for her and the young master. However, I didn’t expect that the girl to leave before the tea was finished brewing. So now, I don’t know what to do about this tea?”
When Luo Xingchen heard the waiter’s words, his face changed. He casually looked into the teacup and saw there was reddish-brown tea inside that smelled of ginger.
He frowned, it seemed it really was just ginger tea with a hint of brown sugar. After an instant, he regained his usual calm look and said, “It seems she really is just a little girl. She even likes to drink such sweet sugar water. Anyway, just put it on my bill.”
The waiter had only been afraid that no one would be willing to pay for this tea that had already been made so, when he heard Luo Xingchen say that he would pay for it, he naturally had nothing more to say. He just set down the tea tray and then led Luo Xingchen downstairs to settle the bill.
After Su Tang came out of the Mingxiang Pavilion, she walked back to the Song residence with purposefully slow steps. Soon, she heard the sound of hasty footsteps behind her, and then a figure in black grabbed her arm and cried. “What do you want?”
“How did you know? What do you want?” The figure pressed.
Su Tang looked up along the hand that was grabbing her arm and saw the previously calm young man, Luo Xingchen, now flushed red with nervousness. The attendant who had been following him had disappeared somewhere.
“Don’t be so nervous. At any rate, can you even resist at this point?” Su Tang tried to shake off his hand but was unsuccessful.
“Or Young Master Luo,” St Tang deliberately emphasized the three words of the young man’s name before continuing, “could it be that you want to talk to me here?”
There were houses on both sides of this street, so it was clear that any discussion they held here wouldn’t be secret at all.
“What do you want?” Luo Xingchen repeated, looking cautious.
Su Tang smiled directly. “Don’t worry, it’s not like I’ll sell you off. Anyway, my master’s house is right here, let’s talk inside.”
tl note: Seems Su Tang really did ‘see through him’ as has been hinted at a few times. I wonder what she saw?

Tea, with brown sugar. That equals one thing in CNovels. A woman/girl with period pains. So I am guessing Young Maser Luo is actually Young Miss Luo.
😳 I’ve read many novels 🤔 but I don’t recall reading about this. 🤯 I didn’t see this coming. I was thinking this was just another reverse harem. 😱 A girl!
Ginger brown sugar?
Big reaction when hearing women are as good as men?
I think my conjecture from the previous chapter is even more plausible (╭ರ_⊙)
