As Luo Xingchen spoke, her face was very aggrieved.
Su Tang snorted and shook her head wryly. What was with that look?
What kind of luck did she have? Ever since she had come to this era she had only met a few people, but they were all peculiar characters. For instance, one of them was the scheming Luo Xingchen, and another was the coquettish and clingy Lu Wan’er.
It was really just bad luck. Thinking to this point, Su Tang couldn’t help but glare at the small tattoo of a cat head on her wrist. Probably, this guy here was to blame!
Divine Beast Si’er: Meow? Why was he taking the blame again? He was a noble Divine Beast, so why did it feel like he was often forced to guest star as a scapegoat?
“I’ll come to take a look with you later.” Su Tang finally relented.
Hearing this, Luo Xingchen’s mood immediately became happy and she exclaimed, “Also, about…”
“Okay, okay, I’ll make you some delicious food… but tomorrow!” Su Tang sighed and wanted to roll her eyes. In addition to being scheming, this friend of hers was also a foodie!
Luo Xingchen smiled, “I knew that TangTang treats me the best. Come on, let’s go inside and talk.”
With that, she wasn’t polite at all and directly grabbed Su Tang and pulled her into the main room as if she were in her own home. Su Nuo saw Luo Xingchen pulling his sister behind “him” like that and hurriedly grabbed his sister’s other hand. His sister was his and couldn’t be taken away!
“I’ve asked someone to properly store the seedlings and send them to my father. That aside, where’s that new gadget of yours? Can I have a look?” Luo Xingchen asked, still thinking about the new tool that Su Tang had mentioned last time.
Since her friend brought up this topic, Su Tang also remembered it. She blinked and replied, “I don’t have any of them here. It’s convenient that you happen to have nothing to do, you can take my blueprints and find some reliable craftsmen to create them for us!”
“Ah? Why is it my job again?” Luo Xingchen was puzzled. How did she suddenly get assigned more work out of the blue?
Su Tang rolled her eyes at her friend before taking the blueprint she had drawn up beforehand from her sleeve and handed it over. In fact, the blueprint hadn’t been in her sleeve at all but actually in her space, but she reached into her sleeve to cover that up. Luo Xingchen took a look and saw various unknown parts were drawn on the blueprint. In the end, she realized that she really couldn’t tell what she was looking at.
“This thing is also a never before seen kind of tool, so I plan to open another workshop to sell it after a while. If you are interested, we can do it together. We just need to find a few craftsmen and have each one focus on producing one single part before sending them all to the workshop to be assembled.”
What Su Tang took out this time was a crude Manual Meat Grinder, basically a funnel-shaped thing with a spiral blade on the inside and a handle on the outside. Using this thing, you just needed to twist the handle and it would be able to shred vegetables, fruits, or meat with ease.
It was a relatively primitive machine and, in fact, its structure was very simple. However, since it used the lever principle it was something absolutely inconceivable in this era. Moreover, thanks to its relative simplicity, it could easily be customized into different sizes.
Since they were planning to the sauce business, it meant that they would soon be facing the problem of having a lot of raw materials that needed to be shredded and ground into paste. Therefore, this tool would give them twice the results with half the effort.
At the same time, because there weren’t any similar tools within the kingdom right now, Su Tang felt that once they really made it they could also sell it. Moreover, they wouldn’t need to set up another workshop specifically for this product because they could just contract various craftsmen to produce the individual parts and then send it to them for assembly.
In the modern era that had a clear division of labor and a sophisticated production chain, this kind of dividing the labor to create a single product was very common. But when Luo Xingchen heard the idea after receiving the blueprint, she was a bit shocked. Still, she agreed, “Of course I’m interested!”
For Luo Xingchen, anything that could make her more money was interesting. However, she still really couldn’t tell what she was looking at, so she asked again, “But what on earth is this thing?”
“When we assemble the final product, you will know then. It isn’t very hard to put this thing together, and it just so happens that there are many farmers on our farms that are idle enough to do the job. How about this, if you can make the Luo family agree to a 20-80 split, I’ll give you an additional 10% percent for your personal use?”

tl begging corner:
tl note: Way back when I first started translating this I translated the orange cat’s name as “Xiao Four” because I was just coming off another project with a similar character who had a similar name, but I think that sounds dumb now and also like it’s missing something so I’m just leaving it like I leave all other character names. For reference, the name in the raw is “神兽四儿” where 神兽 = Divine Beast and 四儿 = Si’er/Little Four. Of course, the orange cat is hardly ever mentioned by name so I dunno how many people will even notice this change.
Thank you for the chapter. The explanation about the name was helpful – I was about to read through all chapters again just to find the Si’er part 😉
