“I’ll listen to you.” Luo Xingchen nodded without adding anything on, agreeing to follow Su Tang’s plan.
Su Tang returned the nod and then asked her friend to wait for her while she went to check on Su Nuo.
Then Su Tang headed over to Su Nuo’s room and looked over the little guy’s homework. As his sister had been becoming busier and busier these days, Su Nuo had also resolved himself to work even harder, so he had been putting a lot of effort into his studies and making great progress.
After checking his homework Su Tang could easily see his progress and gave him a few words of encouragement, including a promise to make a delicious meal for him the next day. Once that was settled, she went and found Luo Xingchen and followed her out to take a look at the residence she had chosen.
Back when Su Tang went to study at the Song residence earlier in the day, Luo Xingchen had gone out and visited several residences. Basically all of the residences she looked at were large, three courtyard affairs, the most common kind of high-end housing in Qinghe Town.
Su Tang followed Luo Xingchen around for the rest of the evening to take a look at the residences she had selected and, in the end, they settled on a residence that was on the same street as the Song residence. Su Tang knew she definitely needed to study with Song Yi every day for the foreseeable future, so this residence was the best choice.
Su Tang had no idea how much longer Song Yi would stay in Qinghe Town for, but she had truly learned a lot while studying under him and he had treated her very well, so she had decided that so long as he was still in town she would try to spend more time with him.
After all, as a former Imperial Preceptor, there was no way Song Yi could keep up his low-key and secluded lifestyle here forever. At the same time, when the time came for him to leave, it would obviously be impossible for Su Tang to accompany him. Still, she wanted to continue to interact with Song Yi while she could. Therefore, by buying a residence on the same street, whether it was Su Tang going to find him or him coming to find her, it would be much more convenient.
At the same time, Luo Xingchen herself also felt that the residence was pretty good, so when she saw Su Tang also seemed fond of it she immediately told the broker following them that she would buy it the next day. All this done, the two girls finally went back to their respective places to have a rest.
Currently, Luo Xingchen was temporarily staying in an inn. Even though the courtyard Luo Xingchen was renting had a bit of space in it now that Luo Xingchen had taken out some of the seedlings and sent them away, Jiang Hong and his family were currently living there, so it was impossible for Luo Xingchen to stay there as well. Thus, she could only stay in an inn in town.
Meanwhile, having dealt with one thing after another all day long, Su Tang finally managed to return home and went inside her space to rest. She slept all the way until dawn and before coming out again. Opening the door, she looked around and found that the oven in the yard was busily baking cakes while, at the same time, both Yu Caihe and Zhang Cuilan had already started making soap.
“Young miss, you’re awake!” Pu Wei was watching the oven, so she saw Su Tang coming out first and greeted her with a smile.
Baohe had already gone to the front to prepare to open the shop, so only Pu Wei was left here to watch the oven. Seeing Su Tang, she giggled and continued, “When the young master got up, he knew that you still weren’t up yet and specially asked us maidservants to keep the noise down to avoid disturbing the young miss’s sleep.”
On one side, Yu Caihe, who had rolled up her sleeves, had just finished putting all the lye into the oil. She looked over and said, “Young miss, are you hungry? Breakfast is still warm.”
As she spoke, she poured the warm mixture into the basin in front of her and then stood up and went over to help Su Tang wash up and brush her teeth. At the same time, Pu Wei hurried over to the kitchen to bring out the breakfast they had made earlier.
“Xiao Nuo already went to the academy?” As she spoke, Su Tang also rolled up her sleeves, washed her face, and then wiped herself dry with a towel.
“En, the young master got up even earlier than we did. When he saw that you, young miss, were still asleep, he repeatedly urged us servants not to make any noise or disturb you.” Yu Caihe said.
The little guy really was very sensible. He knew that his sister was tired from running around outside for so long, so he wanted her to have a good rest. Hearing about this, Su Tang felt a warm current flowing in her heart and replied, “Hmm, I see.”
Yu Caihe and Pu Wei saw that Su Tang’s face stayed expressionless, but the slight creases at the corners betrayed her good mood, so they smiled happily as well.
After breakfast, Su Tang went outside and found that Niu’er had also arrived. Although the walk between Qinghe Town and Sujia Village wasn’t very far, Su Tang felt that she should try to conserve her strength where she could and sent Baohe to go fetch Niu’er while she was eating her meal.
Niu’er always spent his time driving people around town on usual days, so when Baohe found him and told him that there was another job from Su Tang and the destination was the nearby Sujia Village, he didn’t say a single word but just packed his things and rushed over to Su Tang’s house.
When he saw Su Tang had come outside, he immediately saluted politely and greeted, “Miss Su!”
