Now that Su Tang had arrived in person, Su Yongqiang was finally reassured that this opportunity wouldn’t suddenly disappear and, of course, he was happy to hear that she also needed more households to work for her. After all, they just meant that they would be able to earn even more money than he had expected.
When she heard Su Yongqiang already had some households in mind, Su Tang asked for their names to check if they could be trusted. Of course, Su Tang herself wasn’t familiar with these people but, fortunately, she was raising a certain gossipy meow.
The orange cat listened from the side as Su Yongqiang listed off the names, nodding along each time to show that these people were all reliable. After all, the orange cat had spent quite a bit of time handing around Sujia Village, so he was familiar with most everyone who lived here. Su Tang estimated that probably there was no one more familiar with the goings-on in the village than him.
When she saw that the people that Su Yongqiang selected were all reliable, Su Tang felt relieved. In reality, this job involving the seedlings was not a small matter at all, so she wanted it to be done properly. So long as the job was done properly, it should be very helpful for the Su family in the long run. After all, she wouldn’t be able to help the Su family forever, so it would be good if the Su family could strengthen themselves by grasping this opportunity.
“I am naturally relieved since Brother Qiang has handled things here. However, now that Second Young Master Luo has arrived in Qinghe Town he will be personally keeping an eye on the matter regarding the seedlings. Brother Qiang, please give me a list of the candidates you selected and, if you can, contact all of them to let them know about the things we’ve discussed today. Before long, they may need to meet up with Second Young Master Luo and sign contracts individually.”
Su Tang continued speaking in a very polite tone, “I hope that Brother Qiang can understand. This matter is regarding a very important business secret owned by the Luo family of Beikou and if anything goes wrong there’s no telling how the Luo family might respond. Therefore, it’s best for all the individuals involved to sign separate contracts so that we can avoid any liability problems in the future.”
Of course, more important than any vague potential liability issues, signing many separate contracts like this would reduce Su Yongqiang’s personal responsibility despite the fact that he was the patriarch of the Su family. In the future, if something went wrong or any accidents ended up happening, he wouldn’t be solely responsible since every individual head of household would have signed their own contract. This way the individual heads would have to share the responsibility and wouldn’t be able to push everything onto Su Yongqiang in the event that something went wrong.
Despite the fact that it reduced the amount of power Su Yongqiang personally had over the entire operation, this move could actually be regarded as helping him and causing the pressure on his shoulders to be much reduced.
Su Yongqiang naturally understood that this move was actually for his sake. Understanding that, he wasn’t upset at all when he heard that the heads of the various households would each have their own individual contracts. In fact, according to his way of thinking, since it was such a big piece of business with so much money on the line it was always best to be more careful.
“Alright, then I’ll spend the next few days handling things here and when I’ve finished talking to all of the candidates I’ll come and find you again. I should be able to reach you at the Dessert Cafe, right?” Su Yongqiang nodded and asked Su Tang.
Su Tang thought for a moment and then replied, “It would be better to set a specific time. Brother Qiang, how long do you think it will take for you to handle everything here?”
Su Yongqiang also pondered for a moment, then said, “Two days.”
Obviously, he also didn’t want to waste any time. In fact, truth be told, such a good thing had fallen into his lap this time, so he really couldn’t rest assured until he had a signed contract in his hands. Therefore, he also hoped to settle everything as quickly as possible.
Su Tang’s style had always been to be very straightforward and not muddle around. Therefore, hearing Su Yongqiang’s reply, she nodded and directly said: “Then come find me in Mingxiang Pavilion in the morning two days from now.”
Hearing that Su Tang wanted to meet in an expensive place like Mingxiang Pavilion, Su Yongqiang’s lips moved uncertainly, but in the end he didn’t say anything and just nodded.
“Then the matter is settled for now!” Su Tang smiled and clapped her hands. Then she reached back and took out the food box she had brought along.
“Brother Shun and sister-in-law Qin, it’s just perfect that you’re both here, these are the latest cakes from my Dessert Cafe. Brother Shun, can I trouble you to bring them back for my nephews and nieces to taste, especially Nuan’er? I think she should like them. Unfortunately, I have to hurry back today, but I’ll come over and play with her next time when I’m free.”
Until now only Su Tang and Su Yongqiang had been speaking. After all, Su Yongshun wasn’t the family patriarch, so he couldn’t make decisions, thus, he had only been listening from the side and only occasionally speaking up to introduce the households he had personally screened and selected. Now that Su Tang suddenly began speaking to him, Su Yongshun and Madam Qin both felt a little embarrassed.
But he still replied with a wry smile, “Tang’er, you’re still so polite with us.”
