These days, because she was wary of any spies that might have been planted around her, Luo Xingchen had been forced to pay more attention to which people she could use. Thus, for this sauce business, she had no choice but to clearly define the terms of their cooperation, with Luo Xingchen representing the Luo family, and Su Tang representing herself.
And the business regarding the manual meat grinder was the same, at least on the surface. On the outside, Luo Xingchen was representing the Luo family to cooperate with Su Tang but, secretly, Su Tang had also prepared a separate share of the profits which was only for her. This was why she was paying even more attention to this business than to the seedlings, after all, the money she earned from the manual meat grinder business could be said to be her own private money.
When Luo Xingchen heard Su Tang bring up the matter of the Su family and the seedlings, she nodded along and said, “En, I’ve already asked someone to send some of the seedlings you prepared to my father. I guess he probably won’t worry anymore once he sees them for himself, but are you sure you can really prepare some many seedlings in time?”
Luo Xingchen knew that Su Tang wasn’t raising any more seedlings personally and seemed to be planning to leave it to the Su family, but she didn’t mind. After all, Su Tang had selected these people and settled everything with them while Luo Xingchen hadn’t needed to do anything at all. If anything, she only felt a little afraid after learning just how efficient Su Tang was in doing things.
Su Tang grinned when she heard that question and responded, “I’ve said it, so naturally I can do it. Anyway, you should just let your people take their time while transporting the seedlings back to your family. After all, seedlings that are overripe and useless are technically still seedlings, and you can just let those servants in your family try to plant them, if only to keep them occupied.”
Hearing Su Tang’s idea, Luo Xingchen smiled along and muttered, “Really, what kind of brain do you have? You can even think of such an idea.”
In fact, they both knew that regarding their current cooperation, it was enough to keep things just between the two of them. The servants from the Luo family couldn’t help them much, and also couldn’t really be trusted. Su Tang wasn’t willing to use these people, rather she wanted to only use their own people.
And Luo Xingchen also felt that Su Tang’s people were more reliable. At the very least, she knew that Su Tang’s people couldn’t possibly belong to her elder brother. Especially that couple that Su Tang had picked up, Jiang Hong and his wife. Considering everything that had happened to those two, Luo Xingchen could rest assured that they would never betray them and help her elder brother instead.
However, the people she had brought along from the Luo family really couldn’t be trusted the same way, and she didn’t dare to leave anything too important to these people. Of course, it was fine to use them to transport the soap, but the people from the Luo family would be suspicious if she didn’t use them at all to grow seedlings.
Thankfully, Su Tang had already thought of this and provided a perfect countermeasure, just give them seedlings that were already overripe and couldn’t be grown anymore!
This was why Luo Xingchen agreed that it was a good idea and happily adopted it.
Su Tang raised an eyebrow and said, “Obviously, my brain is different from yours. So let’s use this plan for now. I will start preparing the seedlings on my end, and in a few days, you and I will go find the Su family and have them sign contracts to grow more seedlings. After that, you can get busy with the manual meat grinder.”
In the end, these were the arrangements they decided to use. With this plan, the seedlings will be ready by next month and could immediately be transported to the farms the Luo family had been preparing that were nearly ready for planting.
As for the manual meat grinder, there was no hurry. After all, this thing couldn’t be used until the tomatoes and chili peppers were grown and harvested. Before that, they could only sell it to others. Of course, it would probably sell well since it was a very convenient tool for grinding meat and other such things but since they weren’t going to be using it themselves it wasn’t very high priority.
“All right, it’s settled!” Luo Xingchen agreed.
Just as they finished discussing, the two servants suddenly came inside with Baohe behind them. Yu Caihe said, “Young miss, we’ve finished picking the fish as you instructed, would you like to come and have a look?”
Su Tang nodded and stood up to follow them. Lou Xingchen, hearing the word “fish”, knew that this had something to do with dinner, so she stood up as well.
Seeing this, Su Tang smiled wryly and shook her head. This foodie, ah.
Then, Su Tang said, “En, I’ll go and have a look.”
Baohe quickly went to hold the door for her, and Luo Xingchen and Su Tang stepped inside. The three servants quickly followed behind them into the kitchen, and everyone looked over to see that the fish Zhang Cuilan and Yu Caihe had been preparing earlier were now marinated in a white porcelain basin.
