Hey guys, Ship here.
I’ve been away for a while so I wanted to make a post to reassure everyone and clarify a bit about what happened. Long story short, I caught covid and it interacted poorly with another underlying health condition that I have and, as a result, I was very sick for the few days leading up to Dec. 24 and ultimately ended up needing to go to the hospital where I stayed for a few days.
Yeah, I spent my Christmas in the hospital. That was fun.
Now it’s already been a few days since I was discharged and, after sorting out my various real-life responsibilities, I finally have the time and energy to resume translating. However, if I were to put a number on it, I would say that I’m probably still only at 70% when compared to how I was before I got sick and, if you can excuse me whining a bit, I’m also still in a lot of physical discomfort that is left over from my hospital stay. For example, the doctor who oversaw my treatment wanted a certain result from my blood tests before he would agree to discharge me, which led to him ordering my blood drawn like half a dozen times in the final two days of my stay – each time with a new technician who had to poke a new hole in my left arm (since the other arm had an IV in it), usually right near the wrist since the area around the elbow was all one huge splotchy bruise after some sort of IV mishap. As a result, even until now my left hand and arm are in quite a bit of physical pain whenever I try to use them, though it’s much better now compared to a few days ago when it really hurt too much to use them at all.
Anyway, I do really want to apologize to everyone for just suddenly disappearing like that and also to tell you all that I’m more or less recovered and in good health now, so I’ll be able to resume translating as usual soon. However, in my usual process, I prepare each week’s chapters a week in advance but, obviously, I wasn’t able to do that last week. Therefore, this week I’ll need to prepare chapters both for this week and for next week, which means I’ll probably only aim for 3 days of uploads this week and then return to the usual 5 starting next week.
Finally, let me say thank you so much to everyone who stuck with me through all this. Honestly, I expected to come back and find a huge drop in views on the website/Patrons, but that didn’t really happen and I’m so grateful to everyone who stuck around even though I missed so many days of uploads. I really appreciate your support!
tl;dr: Caught covid. Better now. 3 days of uploads this week, then back to the usual 5 starting next week.
Hi, I’m really glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Really sorry about all the pain and discomfort you had to endure. Happy that you’re back, but you should still take it easy. Health more important! Thank you for all the efforts you put in for us.
Just glad you are okay and are healthy.. well mostly now and are on your way better. If you need to take more time do so. We will understand, and those of us smarmy ones who will cry and yell are probably long gone already
Just saw this note. Sorry to hear you caught covid. I know that is so hard with a hospital stay. We are so b glad you’re back and hope you’re back to 100% well again!
