Su Tang pulled Luo Xingchen into the main room and watched as the dignified Second Young Master Luo put her head down and went straight over and faced the corner with a dull expression.
Su Tang chuckled and said, “Why are you acting like this? Our Second Young Master Luo can’t listen to the truth now?”
These words pierced poor Luo Xingchen’s heart a second time.
Luo Xingchen grabbed her chest and looked up at Su Tang pitifully, “Tang, won’t your conscience hurt if you do this to me?”
How could she treat her this way wuwuwu
But Su Tang just rolled her eyes when she saw this drama queen acting up again.
“What is conscience? Can you buy it? Can you eat it?” Su Tang snorted. Trying to talk to Dark Loli about conscience, wasn’t that like trying to sell a comb to a monk? Something like conscience was impossible. Absolutely impossible!
(tl note: Monks are bald, so the idiom “try to sell a comb to a monk” is basically just saying “wasting your time on something fruitless”.)
Luo Xingchen went on, “Tang, don’t you love me anymore?”
Su Tang was speechless. Finally, she could only say, “If you think I don’t love you anymore, just take it as true. We wouldn’t work out anyway.” After that, Su Tang sat down and said seriously, “Anyway, can we get down to business?”
Luo Xingchen also sat down across from her, but still pouted “Hard-hearted Tang, Black-hearted Tang…”
She couldn’t help but remember back when she first met Su Tang and had her secret seen through. Su Tang had used all kinds of tricks to cheat her onto this pirate ship back then and, sure enough, she was still the same black-hearted person even today.
Hearing her friend calling her “black-hearted”, Su Tang smiled faintly and said, “Oh my, what did our eldest young miss just say?”
The orange cat was resting on Su Tang’s shoulders like usual, and after those words fell he could practically see the little devil wings popping out of this dark loli’s shoulders. He couldn’t help but send Luo Xingchen a sympathetic look. Sigh, it wasn’t like this was the first time she had interacted with his master, but she still hadn’t learned her lesson.
The orange cat couldn’t help but sigh again. Sure enough, all beautiful two-legged beasts had no brains!
However, the next second his big head was swatted by Su Tang!
Meanwhile, Su Tang had narrowed her eyes after sending out this swat. Did this meow think she was dead? He was always saying that “all beautiful two-legged beasts have no brains”, but had he forgotten that his own master, that was her, Su Tang, was also very beautiful? Was he trying to say she had no brain?
What was wrong with being a two-legged beast? At least she wasn’t like a certain four-legged beast who only knew how to act cute, hmph!
At the same time, when Luo Xingchen heard Su Tang address her as “eldest young miss”, she couldn’t help but straighten up and put on a serious expression, “I didn’t say anything. Anyway, let’s get down to business, what’s this new product you mentioned?”
By now Luo Xingchen and Su Tang had already known each other for more than half a year. Moreover, because of Luo Xingchen’s somewhat sensitive identity, Su Tang had always been calling her “Second Young Master Luo” in order to avoid anyone overhearing and making connections. Even when they were only in front of Su Nuo, she would still call Luo Xingchen “Second Young Master Luo” and had Su Nuo call her Brother Luo.
After all, once her identity was found out by the people around them, things could potentially become complicated. However, Su Tang would also occasionally call her “eldest young miss” in a deadly serious tone. At times like this, Su Tang was very dangerous. After all, Luo Xingchen’s identity as a woman was her greatest secret, so mentioning it wasn’t something Su Tang would do lightly.
Therefore, hearing that familiar serious tone, Luo Xingchen’s survival instincts kicked in and she immediately stopped playing around.
Su Tang just snorted and, without any more nonsense, said directly, “After the chili peppers and tomatoes are successfully harvested, there should be no problems making the sauces according to the recipe that I gave you before. However, at present, our business has a clear flaw. Just having these two sauces will make our business too seasonal. During the seasons when the main ingredients of the two sauces can’t be harvested, we will lose sales. Therefore, I’m planning to add a new kind of seasoning to our line-up of products.”
Su Tang had given been planning this decision from the start. In fact, the tomato and chili sauce that she had brought out at first were both good products, but their recipe was actually relatively simple. Thus, once the workers slowly got used to how to make them, she would be able to slowly add in new and more complex products.
Moreover, the seasonality of tomato and chili sauce was just too obvious of a flaw. If they only relied on these two products, their business would only be able to run for half the year at most. During winter and spring, their workshop would only be able to sit idle with no materials to process, which would obviously be too big of a waste.
The workshop had already been built, how could they just let it sit idle for six months out of the year?
So, after much consideration, Su Tang decided to add another product. The seasoning she choose was simple enough that the workshop could make it, could be sold in all seasons, and also had a long shelf life.
“You’re really bringing out a new seasoning?” Luo Xingchen looked at Su Tang in surprise.
